WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – Going greener is the focus at Waterbury’s Kaynor Tech, where students are building another “e-house”.

The project is part of the nation’s first “green” construction learning laboratories for high school students. The kids are focusing on a clean energy curriculum, learning all about the latest technologies in the field.

“This is a unique opportunity for our students to apply textbook to real world experience,” teacher Nivea Torres said. “From carpentry, to electrical, to plumbing, the latest installation energy conservation within a unique e-house energy conservation laboratory.”

It’s a great way for them to get prepared for a “green” career, because all students will get those credentials within their trade.
