Kaynor Tech Students and Staff Hold Their Annual St. Baldrick’s Day Celebration to Raise Money in the Fight against Childhood Cancer

May 28, 2015

On March 24, 2015 there was a festive feeling in the school gym at Kaynor Technical High School in Waterbury, Connecticut. It was time for the annual celebration of St. Baldrick’s Day. Hundreds of students were there to watch students and staff members who volunteered to have their heads shaved to raise money in the fight against childhood cancer.

The head shaving was done by Senior Class of 2015 students in the Hairdressing program at Kaynor Tech under the direction of Department Head Kim Cerra and instructor Michelle Serrao. This is just one of the many activities at the school that gets students to work together to help their community and those in need. The activity is coordinated by instructor Kathryn Patrick.
