Kaynor Junior Honored by Baypath University

May 26, 2019

Congratulations to Kaynor Tech junior Joenlis Vale-Moran on receiving Bay Path University’s Presidential Book Award. This award recognizes an outstanding young woman from select high schools who displays a commitment to her academics as well as demonstrates an interest in community service. As a recipient of this prestigious award, Joenlis is eligible to receive a renewable four-year merit scholarship worth up to $19,000 per year should she choose to attend Bay Path University. She has also been presented with Cleo Wade’s novel, Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life, a book that seeks to inspire readers and rid them of any excuse not to pursue their creative interests.

Joenlis currently ranks 15th in her class with a grade point average of 97.9. Recently named as a Junior Associate Member of the National Honor Society, Ms. Vale-Moran is a multi-sport athlete on Kaynor’s varsity softball and swimming teams, assists younger students as an after school tutor, has twice participated in the SkillsUSA State Conference, and has been named a Senior Mentor, where she will be assisting next year’s freshmen to have a successful transition to Kaynor Tech. A member of the Precision Machining shop, she is involved in Kaynor’s Work Based Learning program as a machine operator at RBC Bearings, Inc. Joenlis’ future plans include pursuing an advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
