CTECS to Host Job Fair for Skilled Tradespeople

Waterbury, CT; February, 2020 – The Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) will hold a job fair for experienced tradespeople interested in pursuing a career in teaching. The fair will take place on Thurs., Feb. 20, 2020, from 4 to 7 p.m. at W.F. Kaynor Technical High School, 43 Tompkins St., Waterbury, CT.
Individuals with 8 or more years of experience in the following fields are encouraged to attend: Architecture & Construction; Arts, A/V & Communications; Automotive, Collision Repair & HD Diesel; Aviation Maintenance; Bioscience & Environmental Technology; Culinary & Hospitality; Hairdressing & Cosmetology; Health Technology; Information Technology; Law, Public Safety, Security; Manufacturing, Automation & Design; Marketing & Sales; and Pre-electrical Engineering.
“Connecticut is crying out for a skilled labor force,” said Robert Sartoris, CTECS Director of Talent Management. “We need expert tradespeople to help prepare the next generation of skilled workers, not only for their success, but for the success of communities across the state.”
This no-cost event is open to the public. Job-seekers will have the opportunity to speak with trade-area experts about making a career change into the teaching field.
