National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day is on February 15th every year. The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) started the day to recognize the important work of school resource officers (SROs). SROs are sworn officers who are assigned to a school long-term & have many roles and responsibilities. They work closely with administrators to create a safe environment for students & staff. SROs' duties include: Law enforcement, law-related counseling, law-related education, mentoring or counseling, bridging gaps between law enforcement & youth, and supporting students & communities.
